Things that Keeps me Sane

things that keep me sane

You simply cannot keep the house clean with a 2 year old roaming around the house, throwing food everywhere. Last night, I was washing all the dishes, I turned back and all the broken eggs are on the floor. Messy house makes me stressed, and what do we moms do, we clean up the mess.

So before I lose my mind, I do I try to chill out and do something entertaining a little bit sometimes, just to keep things balanced. And here are some of the things on my sanity list:

I lost 20 lbs! Happy New Me 2012!

happy new me 2012

This is the best New Year I’ve had in 5 years! How’s that for my first post?!

It’s been 4 months since I started my weight loss regimen. I already lost 20 lbs. and I can now see my feet! That’s 4 months of no rice, just good food and exercise. I’m hoping that I can stick with my weight loss routine and lose 30 pounds this year.

Random Things I Learned from my Marriage

things i learned from my marriage

It’s hard to believe that is was only three years ago I married my bestfriend. The last three years has been full of good days and mad days. We’ve disagreed and fought many times, (God knows how many!) and most of those fights happened after Yuri was born. We’ve faced true adversities and together we’ve learned how to make a marriage work and what true love is all about.

Here’s some of what I’ve learned along the way:

Food Invaders: Rex Navarette Unique Take on Filipino Cuisine

Our food pretty much defines the culture and heritage we have as Filipinos.  Most of our popular Filipino dishes came from a hodgepodge of cultures; we have the Biko and Suman from Indonesia, Lumpia and Pancit from China, and that famous Adobo from Spain.

Things I Learned about Being a Mama

things i learned from being a mama mylucban 2012 pix

From the moment I had received my first doll, I always had a lot of pre-conceived notions on motherhood. Those pretty much all flew out the window when I became a mom.

It was three years ago, and I can still remember the beginning of my motherhood journey. From pregnancy to 24 hours of grueling labor pains, giving birth, and breastfeeding (I would never have thought that breastfeeding could be that painful).

I remember the feelings I’ve had that moment, it’s like a rollercoaster
